Craig Solberg, of The Weather Trades Hotline, grew up on a farm in northeast Iowa before enrolling in the meteorology program at Iowa State University in the fall of 1985. His four years at Iowa State included winning the Iowa State Forecasting contest for the spring of 1989 before receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in May of 1989. He has been employed by Freese-Notis Weather/Weather Trades since May of 1989. His interest in commodity trading grew due to his association with noted commodity trading advisor Jim Roemer, and became registered as a Commodity Trading Advisor with the National Futures Association in July of 1990.

The Weather Trades Hotline employs the weather to trade the markets, searching for those markets who are (or will be) closely monitoring world weather developments and using their weather forecasting expertise to make market recommendations.

Subscribers to the hotline profited over $32,000 per contract on recommendations made in 1994. In 1995 hotline subscribers have profited over $25,000 per contract. 1996 trading recommendations netted profits of over $33,000 per contract. A complete record of the trading records can be obtained by contacting Craig at trades@weather.net (Note: past performance may not be indicative of future results; there is a risk of loss in futures trading).
